Baby Jesus

I feel like Justin overnight looks older. Maybe because I have been taking so many pictures for other families (Christmas cards, birthday parties, showers, etc) that I haven't been posting as much about my favorite little man. Tonight was the first night since November 9 that the three of us were together solo. What I mean is that either someone was gone or we were with other people all the rest of those nights. Plus with Thanksgiving, our New York trip (I'll post about those soon), we haven't been able to get a good block of family time. Means that it's time for us to slow down.

So tonight we made chili, made our first fire in the fireplace for the winter, and drove around looking at Christmas lights. We started of dinner by Derek reading the first few verses of Luke 2. Justin kept nodding his head like he understood, but all he wanted to hear was baby Jesus. That's all we keep talking about is Baby Jesus' birthday. We ate by candlelight, but Justin had to blow out the candles after singing Happy Birthday.

Before and during/after the candle blowing. I was playing with the manual setting on my camera, trying to get what I wanted.

Before dinner we walked by our neighbors' blow-up nativity. We are always in search of a Baby Jesus. Justin went up and had to touch each one. Here he stands proudly by his conquest.

My boy loves to say cheese. This photo makes him look so old - slow down, sweet boy!

This is the first Christmas that he is either awake or aware of what this is all about. I'm hoping to make an impact this month for future Christmases so he understands what this is really all about.

You are right - he looks so old! (and so handsome!) Can't wait to see this year's Christmas card. We are not sending them out this year - thought it was silly to do them now and then again in two months for birth announcements.
