Prayer Bucket

So I found this idea off Mariana's blog a few months ago. She uses all her Christmas cards, birth announcements, etc. and puts them in a bucket. Then each night before bed, her and her daughter draw a photo out of the bucket and pray specifically for that family. What a great way to teach your child not only about prayer but to help learn all the faces and names of the people in our lives. I knew that I would totally do this, but I thought I would do it the day after Christmas. Oh no, those cards sat in a closet until a few weeks ago. Justin LOVES this! He also wants to pray for a family before his nap time as well. So we pull out the front card, pray for the family, and then put the card at the back for when we are finished. It's a great way for him to learn about families that we don't see on a daily basis, plus it allows me to pray specifically for that family's needs.

A great idea to try if you don't know what to do with all those Christmas cards!

We've been doing this too and Brooks loves it as well. When I start praying he interrupts me reminding me to pray for whoever is one the card. I'm so glad you gave me the idea. Keeps us current with our friends back home too. Remind me to tell you about a great little devo book for preschoolers. We've been doing that every night too...its great. Brooks calls it his Bible Study. Keep the new ideas coming!

Oh great - no Christmas card from the Browns means no prayers! :-)

We will get a birth announcement out soon....ONCE WE GET A PICTURE THAT IS WORTH SOMETHING! UGH! How I wish you were here to help me!
