Don't Make Me Count to Three...

I love this book. I have been meaning to blog about it for months. I read through this book last fall as a Tuesday morning biblestudy with my Sunday school class, and now I am doing it again with a group of moms here in Houston on weeknights. For those with kids ages 2-3 years olds and up, this book is a must read. Totally changed the way we discipline in the Michaelis household. It's a work in progress, but the heart issue is such a hard thing to reach on sinful little toddler. And let's face it, they are all just little sinners running around looking for guidance. So go get this book. Here's the info that's on the back of it (makes me laugh but it is so truthful):

Don't Make Me Count to Three!

“Do you want a spanking?”

“You just wait till your daddy gets home!”

"Don't make me come in there!"

Sound familiar?

A Mom's Look at Heart-Oriented Discipline

Do you find yourself threatening, repeating your instructions, or raising your voice in an attempt to get your children to obey? Are you discouraged because it seems you just can't reach the heart of your child? Through personal experience and the practical application of Scripture, Ginger Plowman encourages and equips moms to reach past the outward behavior of their children and dive deeply into the issues of the heart. With wit and tact Ginger steers mothers away from the “survival mode” that is so easy to fall into and reminds them of the great calling they have.

Happy disciplining....
