Doha Diaries: Part 6

When we left off last we were sandbashing and on our way to the beach. We arrived at the Inland Sea on a somewhat cloudy day. So much for me putting on SPf 30 the day before at the hotel - no suntan for Shannon this trip. Thank goodness for Boots Tanning Lotion to help me fake it when I got home. Derek even left me a note in my carry-on for when I left for Doha telling me to come back tan. Sorry to disappoint, honey, but this little momma was a little overprecautious.

So I am standing in Qatar and 200 yards away is the Saudi Arabia border. Kind of spooky yet cool at the same time.

Another view of the beach with Saudi in the background.

I thought Nick's compass system's in his car were cool.

While at the beach, Nick caught us a crab. The kids loved looking at it in the bucket, and then we slightly antagonized it as it ran to the water for safety.

Brooks playing in the sand.

Barrett sitting with mommy

A view of the setting sun as we were leaving the beach and the sand dunes.

Wendi with her Doha angel, Donna. Donna is the very woman we were all praying for before her and Wendi even met. A huge blessing and just peace of mind for the rest of us back home. I enjoyed getting to know Donna and her family while we were in Doha - such a fun family and a great mix for the Junods.

Me and little Bear. He reminds me in so many different ways of Justin. Probably helped me not pine for my little man as much when I was gone for the week. On the photo above as well as this photo I used Pioneer Woman's Sunshine action. Kind of like it - definitely a different look on the photo.

Being playful with the tongue hanging out.

A photo of the dunes as we were airing the tires to leave. Lots of folks out just waiting for an accident.

Took a photo of this Land Cruiser flying by. They all drove white ones with brown stripes, plus another thobes photo op was too much for me to pass up.

A very fun filled day with so many adventures that I had never experienced before. Only one more day left in Doha-land. Stayed tuned for the final post....
