Visit with Gigi and G-pa

Went to Tyler around my birthday in March to see my grandparents. I also planned a continuing education class for my yearly requirement on the dental hygiene license that I am keeping up. Never know when I'll need it for a rainy day, and I still enjoy looking at everyone's teeth. My mom last minute came in as well, so it was fun for Justin to hang out with everyone.

We got into town and immediately started decorating cupcakes for my birthday.Justin mixed all the colors very meticulously...

...iced the cupcakes...

...and placed jelly belly jellybeans on each ones.

After blowing out my candles, we all decided the cupcakes were a success.

My grandparents have this old VHS tape of Dumbo. Last September when we were evacuating Houston for Ike, my Grandpa put the first scene with the train carrying the circus on repeat. This time we attempted to watch the entire movie, a first for this little boy. We watched this over and over the entire stay. If you remember the part where the Mrs. Dumbo is in jail and is swinging baby Dumbo with her trunk (the song 'Baby of Mine' is playing) - my mom, grandma, and I are all bawling and Justin is just smiling. He loves to sit in this chair that my cousin Carter made from shop class.

G-pa and Justin were always wrestling. Justin would try to tickle him and run away as G-pa would chase him.

After my CE class (which was pretty good - learned a lot about Alzheimer's and how to eat better to prevent it), I went down to look at the infamous Tyler Azaleas.

The Tyler Azalea Trail was showcased in Southern Living.

This very scene is portrayed in the magazine. It was gorgeous.

I was trying my art of photography on some of the flowers.

The dogwood flower - the 5 points represent the 5 holes that were pierced on Jesus' skin on the cross.

It rained a lot while we were in Tyler, so Justin and I tried out their Children's Museum.

We pretty much only hung out in the golfball room. Had to watch those balls over and over. There was a skeleton that would ride a bicycle in a window and talk about how our bodies worked. Let's just say it wasn't our favorite.

With the rain came lots of worms.

We went on walks and I was forced to get a stick and put them all back in the grass. Had to save the worms, you know.

Justin and G-G smiling with their azaleas on the front porch.

Had a fabulous time in Tyler! Got to see Clay, Valerie, and Ginger all on this trip as well. Such a treat to get to see so much family all in one trip. Thanks for flying in during my stay, Gingi! I'm so thankful Justin has great-grandparents that he will be able to remember someday.
