Clay's Restaurant

One of my newest finds on eateries for kids is Clay's Restaurant. I actually went to this place on a rainy day for my cousin Clay's high school graduation. I didn't even pay attention to all this place had to offer for kids due to the weather and the fact I didn't have Justin with me.

I've been to this place twice in the last month and a half. The first time was with my Sunday School class in April when this random cool front came through. it was probably 50 degrees outside and windy, hence the jackets. Justin palled around with Audrey that day.

They have these gorgeous peacocks that roam around while you play and eat.

Makes me want to pull one of those feathers out. But I know from experience thanks to Galveston peacocks that it is not so simple to do that.

Justin thought the horse would like some sand to eat. Considering how hesitant he is when we feed the horses at the police station, I think he's getting better around these large beasts.

Justin, Caleb, Audrey, & Allison were all coloring while waiting for their food. This place is very spread out, with indoor seating, an open-style pavilion with ceiling fans going (if you want to eat and watch the kids play), or you can even rent this outdoor covered area for dirt cheap for parties and such.

Then comes this past week with a high of 87 degrees for the day. Pretty toasty, but still could be a lot worse in Houston. Much thanks to my buddy Jenn for taking these photos! Two of the mommies actually had their cameras (which happen to be a step or two up from my Canon model), so for once I thought I would allow someone else to take photos of an event. So nice not to have to edit anything!

Marin, Justin, & Caden were looking at the rooster and hen with the new chicks that had been born recently.

Caden, Justin, & Jonathan were looking at the horse. Justin had a blast with the older boys at this playdate, and you'll notice a theme of he and Caden in almost every photo.

Kaylinn, Caden, & Justin

The threesome once again riding in the wagon and drinking their waters.

If you haven't been to this place out towards Katy, then take your family to a laid back place with sandboxes, animals, and food all in one. Just let the kids roam in the big play area as the adults can actually sit and have a conversation for once. I definitely plan on going again!
