5 fellas in Galveston

So I thought I might make a return to the blogging world while I still had a leg to stand on. I thought August would be a laidback month - boy have I been wrong! So needless to say, blogging has taken a back burner on the to-do list lately. So I bring to you a trip taken in the middle of July. We went to Galveston for a quick 24 trip with the Livesays & Junods. Since both families had been transferred out of Houston, we decided to reunite the mommies and 5 little boys for some fun in the sun.

This photo is a little out of order, but I thought shock value was the best way to get back on the blogosphere. There's a lot of white hineys waiting for a bath in this photo.

This would be your truly jumping through the sprinkler...

...and then jumping in the pool. You would think I would let the boys win, right? Just too competitive for that, as most of you know.

Sweet Major eating goldfish under the new picnic table. The house has looked great after the repairs of Ike.

And we all love the new golfcart that can finally sit more people. The boys had a grand time cruising around in this.

Ah, nothing like brown, Gulf of Mexico, lukewarm water to cool off the sweat. Justin, Hudson, & Barrett went straight for the water.

Brooks got in as well.

Lots of buckets were filled with sand and water. We found lots of clams and kept putting them in the sand in the bucket.

And Major was just happy to be at the beach.

It was very overcast that day, which was great. But the glare still gave me a one-eyed pirate expression from the J man.

This photo just cracks me up. Look at that form presented by Jenise! Those seagulls didn't even know how good they had it when they caught their goldfish in the air.

It was fun to get Hudson and Justin together. They have the same birthday, so they will always share that special bond between them.

Seagulls were circling all over us, and almost dive bombing us at some point. We put all the boys down, and I happened to catch a seagull in the right corner of this photo flying by. Ever seen The Birds by Alfred Hitchcock?

An excited cheer erupted as if to say horray that we are done taking photos!

We hung out under this old house that had been abandoned and condemned after Ike. Several people told me it was a condemned place. I told them thanks. Basically my parents discovered this place during my dad's 60th birthday bash in Galveston. it's great because two stories of house are above you, and then you have an entire foundation of shade to hang out under.

These dump trucks were out entertainment during lunch time. One got stuck trying to get out of the sand. So we got to watch the long process of getting it out of the sand. True heaven for little boys.

Another view of our lovely shade at the beach.

A final photo before we said Bon Voyage and went our separate ways.

If only we all lived closer so these boys could get out all their craziness on each other! I had such a great time spending quality time with these friends, not cooking a lick the whole time (thank goodness for Super Suppers), playing WhooNu, and not wearing any makeup. It;s hard when two of your very best friends move away, but it makes the time together that much more special. Until next time.....

Great pics! Love the one of your pirate. Also noticed the Pine Cove t-shirt in the last pic. :)
