50 for $50

I've been thinking for a long time about how to handle Christmas family photos this year. Last year, I found myself going 7 Saturdays in a row to take friends' photos for their Christmas cards out of the goodness of my heart. And if you were one of those people, I truly enjoyed it and would not offered to do that. I just need to balance my time better, especially with the different weekends that I will be out-of-town from now until December.

So I decided for a slight compromise. The thing is, I am nowhere near the level of a professional photographer, but I have crammed in a lot of knowledge, not to mention new camera gear, in the last year and half of starting this whole camera craze. So I'm not the best, but I'll be darned if I am not much better than the point and shoot cameras that some of you possess.

50 for $50 is what I am calling it. 50 minutes, 50 lightly edited photos, for a $50 giftcard. I am not interested in dealing with cash or checks, so I figured you could pay me with whatever $50 giftcard you wanted to hand over - Visa, Target, restaurants, whatever. So it's not like a business but a forced thank you, if you will. And if no one takes me up on it, then I don't mind at all. I will just have more time to be lazy. But seriously, I love doing photos, but the time has come where my time is too valuable to lend so many favors out. And trust me, this is the cheapest deal you'll find anywhere. Who knows, maybe I'll save up enough towards a new lens so the following year everyone's photos can be that much better. We all gain something in this sense.

Holiday Mood Design Visa Gift Card

When I see what the response is, I'll pick some dates and some locations so I can knock some of this out at once. Let me know if you want to take me up on this

Great idea Shannon!!! I think that is a perfect balance of generous but profitable :) I can't believe I haven't talked to you in person about my pics...I think I'm going to call you right now!

Ooh - you are so smart!!! You schedule everyone at 1 place and give everyone a time - that way you only have to spend one or two Saturdays doing it . . . :) Thanks again for the photo advice!!

Shannon, no lie this is an answered prayer for us! I'm already thinking about Cmas pics and we were trying to think who can do this for us. We'll talk soon but please save a spot for us on your calendar.
