Toy Story 3 & Pudding with the Bees

To quote Michelle, blogging slogging. Just haven't made the time or had the heart for it. Too busy loving on people, enjoying my summer with my boys, and seeking brokenness in my walk with the Lord. But here I am for a brief stint to finish our busy week in Dallas...back in June.

So after leaving the beloved Great Wolf, we drove Derek to the airport to fly back to Houston and we headed to Little Elm.

A quick side story - I have gone on a shopping hiatus for quite a while. I felt like I was getting too much contentment with clothes, looking trendy, having new things. There is nothing wrong with buying things, just making sure your heart is in the right place. So for 8 weeks I didn't buy anything for myself or Justin and just wore what was already in the closets. It's amazing what oldies but goodies you can wear and still be presentable. I wanted to see how money I could save and then just pray about what to use it for instead.

In comes Great Wolf and it's 1.6 miles distance from Grapevine Mills Outlet Malls. In 45 minutes I happened to find the cropped jeans I have been searching for for 3 years and managed to make a major dent at J. Crew. Walking out feeling accomplished and successful, I noticed a huge gash in my front drivers tire on my car. My new car, as one might remember. I started to sweat, feeling like the Lord was telling me, "Really? Did you have to go and buy all that?" So part of my first 2 hours in Little Elm were spent at a discount tire purchasing a not so discounted tire. Made my shopping seem a little less thrilling.

This shopping disease, fulfilling my heart with nice things just because I can, still has a long way to go, but I have stayed in a straight line (and avoided malls and tempting outlet malls) for the most part.

So back to the fun parts of Little Elm - the Junods! We arrived on the day Toy Story 3 was opening, so we went all out.

After good naps the boys waited for their surprise.

First up, their choice of Buzz Lightyear or Woody from Birdie. We had an extra that Birdie instructed us to give to a kid that looked like he didn't have much at the movies. We obediently did so with the extra Woody.

Next were the TS3 shirts

Flipflops

And Buzz sunglasses. Justin with his arm around Barrett reminds me of s Blues Brothers pose or something.

Then we were off to Cinemark to see a non 3D showing. Justin had never been to a big movie theater much less watched any of the previous Toy Story movies all the way through. So this was a gamble on my part.

3 here we come

The boys handed off their own tickets

We got popcorn and sat down for almost 3 hours with the long movie and 40 minutes of previews, all of which are adult-themed animated cartoons coming out in 3D this fall at a theater near you.

The movie was great with the occasional scary/screaming monkey. Justin was fine, Georgia was a piece of cake, and we all had a great time.

The next day we went swimming at Honey's pool.

And then we had another surprise.

Pudding decorating

At first the boys loved putting it all over themselves...

...and then quickly turned sour to the idea.

So then we painted the fort instead.

Such artistic skills were put into this effort.

Such concentration

Such passion

Everyone was deemed a complete mess by the end of it.

Then they cheered back up to throwing pudding at each other.

A fun time was had by all.

That night Justin got some sort of bug and didn't feel all that great. We had lunch at Cafe Express the next day and headed home. You know my boy is sick when he sleeps the entire was home from Dallas to Houston. Easy trip for me!

Man we miss our buddies. So thankful to have this time together, as no summer is complete without some Junod action. Especially now that Miss G in included in the group.

We missed the Watkins as they were away, but camping out at their house can't get any better than it did. Until the next stateside visit....

I love it when kids are of the age that they will all dress alike and think it's cool... Such cute pics; seems like a fun time! Oh, and for what it's worth, I have a really hard time walking past sale signs, too. :(
