Elise's masters' graduation

Back in August my sister-in-law Elise graduated with her masters from Baylor. Nothing like a good ole excuse to go to the Ferrell Center. To be more specific, Elise got her Masters in Education Curriculum with a reading cognate. Elise is the only member of my immediate family to have her masters, and then in the extended family only Uncle Charles joins her in the ranks. We are so proud of her and all her hard work!

None of my photos in the dim lighting were worth a darn, but here she is walking to get her diploma.

And in better lighting, here's the graduate with diploma in hand.

Wish I had a Baylor logo on my tassel. A little confusing graduating from Baylor dental school when it's owned by the A&M Healthcare system. No comment.

Loving that we now have another family member in the Baylor blood. Aaron & Derek are now the lone rangers.

My dad sporting his BU ring alongside our newest graduate. Sic 'Em!

To think in March this couple will become a family of THREE! That's right, the time has come for Shani to become an AUNT! This poor baby doesn't know what's about to be unleashed - years of being "Aunt Shani" but never really being true to the title. Our family is so pumped and cannot wait for this sweet child next spring. Justin doesn't realize the spotlight is about to dim in his world of only-ness.

Elise and her family, minus one of her twin sisters. Her dad wasn't giving me the full smile at first, and let me tell you, you better show your teeth if I am taking your photo.

Our crew at the ceremony - me, Grandpa & Grandma, Elise & Aaron, Mom & Dad. I gave Derek a free pass to hang with his mom & Justin until lunch. I cannot be on the end in photos anymore until I learn what to do with my legs. I know I am my worst critic, but am I about to do a football drill or something? Put your legs closer together, girlfriend!

At lunch the rest of the Smiths showed up to celebrate...eat free food...sweat outside for a photo...

This photo makes me laugh - both uncles on their phones, and I guess Justin is playing Chinese checkers by himself.

Elise, we are so proud of your accomplishments, your new job, and that baby inside your belly. You have been blessed!

And---congrats to you on finally becoming an AUNT! It's awesome! But yes, you need to prepare Justin for sharing the spotlight. :)
