Galveston with the Colloquy group

Four days after we got back from Waco we loaded up to an already planned quick Galveston weekend with Derek's colloquy group.  I am glad it was already planned because we wouldn't have started being so social right away.  It was just what we needed.

My memory is a little hazy, but somehow I needed to go to the store Friday morning to grab some things.  Maybe water proof tape for our makeshift splint that the Medicaid doctor put us in.  Um, no comment.  But the kids each got a dollar to spend as they pleased.  Justin and Lexi got two jumbo suckers whereas Levi bought a pack of gum.  Justin quickly realized Levi's purchased was more long term, so he bartered some slices of gum for a sucker.

 Well, it entertained them while I packed up the car as if we were moving to another continent.  No joke.  And Derek brought down his truck, also completely loaded up.  A lot of just in case things.

The kids all bunked in one room, Derek, Lexi and I slept downstairs, and the other six adults crammed themselves in another room.  We made it work.

 Levi is a fisherman.  He loves it.

 Audra blessed us with her french braid skills.  I still don't have game in that department.

 Well, we weren't there for white beaches.  But you can't beat the distance or the price.

I found someone who knew how to use my camera!  The men grumbled but we managed a group shot of the Maryes, Brays, Hughes, and Michaelis'.

Such a fun trip with such a fun group!  The Brays added Kendall to the group in September and the Hughes will go to China in February to bring back two more little ones!  The Lord has been faithful to all of us.
