Necklace

So I know a lot of friends want a necklace with their kids' names on it. I still don't know if that's my thing, but that's probably because the thought of wearing something other than my wedding ring just sounds annoying. And to think that due to the tightness of my wedding band and teh summer heat I haven't even been wearing that. Anyways, back to the point of the story. Saw this necklace on Celebrity Baby blog that you read about here. I actually like the simplicity of it, and you have to be pretty close to someone's neck to realize what the necklace is all about. That's why I like it, because of the simplicity of it.

Kid tips

For those that don't know about etsy, it's a website for people who make homemade products. Sounds Amish, but it's very cool, for the creatively minded people that are too far from my realm of thinking. Like ebay for stay-at-home moms trying to make a buck or two. Anyway, they have a blog for etsy kids here that leads you to the website as well. So if you're looking for some fun kid products, then check it out.

Also stumbled up another blog here about bargains each day, mostly related to moms. Just another bit of information to put int your head. They call themselves Bargain Hunting Moms.
Another cute blog that Kaki, my sis-in-law directed me to is a youth minister's wife talking about babysitters. She interviewed a few seniors from the youth group on things babysiter wished we, the paying mothers, knew. A few of the things were pretty right on, bringing back memories of me myself being the babysitter and never wanting to tell how much I charged an hour. If you want to just brouse her site then go to http://emmafree.blogspot.com/. Or you can read all five entries in order here, here, here, here, and here. On day three part B, the 4th entry, she talks about a rate calculator and it shows you what the going rate is for what your area is paying. Besides the fact that my age range of sitter (14 years old) was not an option, it was correct in what I pay. Just a little fun trivia, and more wasted time thanks to Kaki! Only kidding, girlfriend - I waste enough of my day on my own blog much less other people's entries...

Random Tidbits

So ran across some random kid info today. I have seen the Buggy Board on a few strollers at the mall. Great for moms with two kids, the older one not always wanting to be in the stroller. So instead of a big bulky double stroller, there is a single stroller with the board attached to it. The toddler then stands on the board when they feel like it. I will definitely be looking into one of these when the time comes for me to think about things like that. You can read more about it here.

Also read about the ontray. A cheap gadgit (do we need another one?) to put on your grocery cart to hold snacks while you are shopping. The youtube video on the website is hilarious of a stay-at-home dad. In case you wanted a random idea for a birthday gift? Pretty lame, I know. Read more about the ontray here.

Came across a blog called Pepper Scraps. She bought a pantry full of baby food, wipes, and diapers for less than $75. If you have the energy to read all her tips on online coupons, then take a look here.
