Halloween Party Playdate

How did 3 little pigs, a monkey and a banana, Ironman, the Little Mermaid and a fisherman, a bumblebee, a mail man, an international soccer sensation, a princess and her frog prince, and Belle from Beauty & the Beast all get in a photo together? At our Halloween Party Playdate, of course! Wendi has hosted this shindig in the past, so now that her fam is off to the far side of the world, I decided to take over for her. We got this photo early on in the morning, and notice no one is crying!Photos of my decor - my craftiness make me wonder who I am these days.

My sweet Postman. He is obsessed with two things - the garbage man and the mail man. There was no costume for the garbage man, so mail man it was. May be the last year I can choose, and he can be a super hero or an athlete for the rest of his days. Some may questions if this is a lateral move or a step down from his other blue collar costume last year (the UPS man). They are both hard working people, so it's a toss up.

Kim & Katie corralling the smaller kids for lunch. Somehow the larger toddlers got the booster seats inside, leaving the younger kids to sit outside in the lovely humid Houston weather.

The kids feasted on mummy dogs.

The mommy's ate grilled cheese with pumpkin shapes cut out of them. The next time you want a grilled cheese, you must try pumpernickel bread with cheddar - such a delicious combo. We also had pumpkin soup, pumpkin dip with fruit, spice/pumpkin muffins and spice cake for dessert (have to stay with the holiday theme). I've never had so many cans of pumpkin in my pantry before! Did I just give it away that I didn't use fresh pumpkin? :-)

As a new found follower of Izzys, I found these fun Halloween themed ones (they still tasted the same) on sale at Target.

Every family brought a favor to exchange in the end. I decided to go a fun vs. tasty route this year. Justin loves flashlights, as we use one in his tent every nap and bedtime reading time. So I handed out flashlights and kazoos.

The table with all the fun favors.

I love Dawn's Halloween UT shirt with the horns the color of candy corn. Too bad that candy corn didn't help with that last minute Tech win on Saturday.

Me and my boy - does it look like I am pinning him down while tickling him to make him smile? Because if so then your eyes are deceiving you...

Kaylinn showing us her craft after she finished. We made footprints on paper and turned them into ghosts.

Justin's final paper. I thought they turned out cute, and a fun way to look back at how small their feet were.

All in all a fun playdate! And I love seeing everyone's costumes as well. I didn't get as many photos this time (kinda hard to hostess with the mostess and be party photographer), but I got enough. Halloween night photos coming shortly (and then I will be caught up with all my posts for the first time since the Hurricane!).

What a cute party Shannon, nice job!!! Mark's dad would be so proud of his mailman costume. He retires after 35 years as a postman:)
