A Day with Jake

I have 414 Google Reader posts that need to be read and 389 emails that need to be deleted, answered, or organized. Amazing how much less time I am on the internet these days. And it's all for Lent (sorry for those that caught my spelling blunder on "lint" instead of lent). How did I have the time before this to do so much? In return, I have been able to help out a lot of friends with their kids. One of them is Justin's buddy from school Jake. I know Justin always talks about Jake but I had not been around him one-on-one. Jake, Justin, & Luke Pine are best buds, and when all three are playing together, have a lot of energy. The teachers usually split them up into different stations at school during independent play time. Makes me laugh. Although one of the teachers pulled me aside and told me Justin is really starting to mind. He sees the others acting out, and they can see his wheels turning deciding if he should join in. He makes eye contact with the teachers then decides he should do what he knows is best. At least we got an affirming word for once.

So what happens when two little boys dump out the garbage bag of balls?

Pure delightment.

Jumping in lots of balls is so fun.

And always produces squeals of laughter.

A squinty smile looking into the sun.

Justin now asks for Jake everyday. Looks like we found our match.
