Rodeo with Luke

We went to the rodeo with the Pines last week. So much more fun being a year older! They had a new area for kids outside that was a blast. For those that went last year and weren't quite as enthused, this new area is so cute. I can't believe that I honest to goodness forgot my camera. Luckily Leslie had hers with her to help us capture the fun.

We started off in the petting zoo area. Goats were literally jumping on me to get the food. I quickly gave it to them to make them stop.

Baby kangaroos were jumping everywhere.

Justin begged to ride the horses. Since there was no line, I decided to cough up the $6 for the ride.

He wanted to ride without my help, so I obliged him and watched from the side. I'm liking this independence!

Then we went to the Farm area. They gave everyone an apron to start their "work" at the farm. All the kids got a basket to keep their food in. We went and collected wooden eggs from the chickens.

We got a coin for vegetables, planted them in the garden, then collected our harvest.

Milking a cow. We got a Borden carton of milk after this station.

At the end, after picking peaches from a tree, collecting wool from the sheep, etc. we put our baskets in our John Deere tractors and rode them to the store. So brilliant. At the store you collected your fake dollar bill and traded it in for an apple juice box, raisins, cheese crackers, or chips at the end. Justin choose the juice and finished it in no time.

Riding the big tractor inside the Kids Country.

We had such a great time this year! We went on Wednesday where adults were half off and kids were free. Not bad for a $5 outing. And if you conveniently forget your camera and have your buddy be the photographer, it really is a relaxing place to be. Thanks for the photos, Leslie!

Very fun. They had a very similar kids area at the fair this year and Stacey loved it. Sometimes its nice to not have the pressure of capturing every moment on film and just enjoying it!!
