Dallas with the Bees

Justin and I went to Dallas a couple weeks ago to hang with the Bees one more time. We overran Miss Jerry/Honey's house with lots of little boys running around like savages. But oh they had fun.

One surprise event on the itinerary was a chance to go the Frisco Roughriders. I was so pumped - Derek and I were just recently saying how we wanted to start taking Justin to minor league games so he can realize what his daddy used to do. We even got the hook-up with tickets, so it felt just like old times. I had never been to this stadium though I had heard how awesome it was.

From the cotton candy, to the close seats behind home plate, it was such a fun evening. Justin might have been a little peppier had he not woken up at 4:30AM that morning in preparation for our trip. But he was just so excited to see his Brooks & Barrett.

We sat right next to the scouts with their radar guns testing the speed of the guns. I listened to them talk about all the players. I looked around for the wives section since that is usually pretty obvious. It was so nostalgic.

I tried to explain everything to Justin, but I don't think he quite got it. He will in due time. This picture states my constant dilemma - always on the end and straining as if I will get cut out of the photo. Why do I do this to myself? Ashley and Anna were able to come join us as well.

First taste of dip 'n dots. We tired of them after about a 1/3 of the way through. But notice the team logo on the cup? I busted out laughing when they gave me the ice cream. LA Dodgers. And when I was young we used to go to the Rangers game and always got an ice cream in these hat bowls. We saved them for years. I'm so happy to have one of my own.

Wendi and I with the boys.

After wearing themselves out on the awesome playground set in the back of left field, we got a huge tub of popcorn, watched a few more pitches, and headed home.

The next day we went to Honey's neighborhood pool Justin borrowed one of the $1 floats from the boys and head a blast. Why does my neighborhood not have one of these?

This photo of Barrett is hilarious! I also love the water droplets so nice and crisp.

One morning I got the boys outside and had them do a decathlon of sorts. They all had to come down the thin narrow shaded grass area doing some type of skill - somersault, rolling sideways, skipping, etc. This was out victory pyramid at the end of our journey.

Jerr Bear - thanks for housing us and putting up with all the chaos! Wendi - thanks for entertaining us. Brooks & Barrett - thanks for being such good friends and surrogate brothers to my only child this summer. We can't wait to see you again at Christmas!

SUCH FUN! Those three boys together always put a smile on my face. I love it that you were able to take him to the baseball game...just wish Derek could have been there too!

That is really great that you guys got to to to a Rough Riders game. It's hard to believe that was your life not so long ago. The boys do seem like brothers!
