Weekend with the Michaelis'

Tom & Mary Beth came into town the first weekend in August. And in typical Houston fashion it was a little rainy and very humid. So Justin put on his boots, swimsuit, and grabbed an umbrella to enjoy the lovely weather.

I was playing with lighting, bringing out the haze, etc. All this boy wanted was to enjoy himself.

Grandma helped him out on lowering and opening the umbrella.

Then we just had to jump in the puddles. Lots of fun on this one.

Then we dropped Justin off at Parents' Night Out at our church and all headed to our newest favorite restaurant, Reef. Derek and I went twice last month just to get some delicious fish (and some fish I had never even heard of). It's been voted the best chef-inspired restaurant in Houston, and it shows. The next day we decided to take the Michaelis' to Galveston. Lovely hat and sunglasses, my little poser.

Hello, brown water! Hello, brown sand! I say that, but I love going to Galveston, and all the memories that go with it. We all played in the water the entire time.

Sonny had never been to the beach before....

...but this Little Princess had.

And Roxy chased and chased all those bird shadows all day.

Love this 3 generation pic with a future tall Michaelis boy.

We took everyone to my grandparents' beach house so that Justin could nap. My cousins happened to be there as well, with Carter's bunny as the newest four legged creature in the family. Justin loved it.

And my cousin Dawson is closest in age to Justin. Justin loves to play with him.

An attempt at a family photo before heading back to Houston.

We all had such a blast at the beach, and I can't wait to take the in-laws back again.
