Turning 33

The last weekend in March brought my parents in town and Uncle Shane's constant presence.  The occasion was Justin's t-ball game, with my birthday conveniently placed in the middle of it.

T-ball is getting one huge post when I finish editing the photos from the last three games.

Friday night we went to Laurenzo's for my favorite seared rare ahi tuna salad.  Salivating just writing it down.

Fellas

Then it was time for some hard core basketball.

Birdie giving JT a lift.

Lots of testosterone sweeping the sidewalks.

My flash was not handy at first, but I kind of like the blurriness of the action photo.

It was Smiths vs. Michaelis'.  Justin putting on the full court press.

He shoots.  He scores.

Nothing like an 8-ft dunk.

The next morning we all went to t-ball then headed back to the house for fun.  The big boys went to play golf leaving Justin with the ladies. Birdie did some hopscotch on all 61 rocks in our backyard per Justin's request.

Justin hopped on all 61 of them.

Then it was treasure hunt time in the mulch with quarters and plastic spoons.

Digging for buried treasure.6

Derek gets a high five for making dinner special Saturday night.  It's fun to just look nice and have good conversation with your spouse.  And maybe a good glass of wine to finish that thought.

Sunday morning, on the actual birthday, we first went to Holy Cross for Justin to perform at his school's church service with other kids from school.

Clappity clap clap.

I love watching Justin sing any song for the Lord with all he's got.

That deserves a hallelujah.

We then raced over to our church for a great Sunday School lesson and church service.  Lunch at Berryhill with Shane followed by a delicious cookie cake, a must in the Smith household.  Long naps and a family walk/bike ride to finish off the day.

May my 33rd year of life be full of purposeful, kingdom-minded, bold decisions.
