Dewberry Farms

The day after Justin's tubes, adenoids, etc. surgery we last minute jumped in the car after nap to go to Dewberry Farms.   Our next four weekends were packed, the weather was gorgeous, and, praise the Lord for no complications, Justin was acting as if nothing had ever happened.

We have only visited Dewberry when it first opens and with a group of people.  I think after this trip we will always go in the afternoon and by ourselves.  Such freedom to just walk in with our tickets and prance around to whatever we wanted to do without worrying about everyone else.

Derek didn't love the feel of the slide on the way down.

Justin gave it a go solo and thought it was just fine with the bumps.  Mommy cheered from the ground.

We were all over the place, never staying in one activity for too long.  But it was nice to have that flexibility.

We love the bouncing pillow.  This was one of the many stations where you paid an additional fee to play.

As was this one, which happened to be our fave.   Justin loved racing the other kids around the circle.

He and Daddy went and rode the bigger tractors.  Notice they are racing that poor girl - she is clueless that she is being passed.

Nice face, babe.

Another "not included" activity was the hang wire.  Or whatever it's called.  Justin didn't want any help, and well, he needed it.  So we weren't here for long either.

We donned our new Texans cap from the Browns as a get well present post surgery.  Yes, I think we are well.  Such sweet friends to think of us and bring over hand-colored get well cards from the kids.  And we love the hat and have since formed a new love (or obsession) over the Texans.    Lately Justin asks if we are cheering for the Texas Rangers or the Texans.

Brilliant - a do it yourself snow cone station!  Just buy the ice and make your own.  Such a fun idea.

Then we wandered over the younger section, aka "included with the price of admission".  Maybe we should have started over here first.  Oh well, lesson learned.  Justin had to be pried away from the racing rubber ducky game.

You pumped your water as fast as you could to get ole ducky down the lane.

Then we went to the petty zoo, which was really just a viewing zoo.  Justin loved the chicks.

When we left we were all starving for something.  So we stopped in at the Highway 6 Lupe's.  Let me tell you, we are never going anywhere else.  In fact, in the last 6 weeks we have been there 4 times!  The best play area, and Justin literally plays on one of these two (they just added a third one) roller coaster cars.

He and some of the bigger boys dug a hole so their car would fall into it.  JT decided not to attempt to fall in, just dig.  Better yet, we have found a way to sit either outside or in the bar so we can sit and still see him while we take longer to eat.  If you ever want to join us, let us know.  There has rarely been a wait.

Though pricey this year, Dewberry pulled through with no long lines and a quick turnover for us.  And I didn't have to ride the hayride.  Actually, Derek told me that we were NOT going to do that, and I quickly submitted to my husband.  :-)

You guys do the best family things. I love it! My favorite might be JT in those heals and camo shorts. Priceless! Love you!
